Hypnobirthing Doula in Kettering

I grew up in Ireland and came to the UK many years ago to go to Glastonbury Music Festival. That summer I got a job in London, and the rest, as they say, is history.

Way before babies were on my mind I overheard a colleague talking about his wife having a cuppa, whilst watching television and IN LABOUR!

Some time later two friends shared their positive birth stories with me.

These were very different to the traumatic birth stories I'd heard before.

The seeds of positivity were planted.

Amazing Birth

When I was pregnant with our elder daughter, I looked for a way to have a positive birthing experience.

I came across hypnobirthing and it resonated with me. What my partner and I learned made so much sense.

We were also lucky enough to find a wonderful Doula to support us.

There’s no doubt in my mind that hypnobirthing and the support of our Doula helped us feel confident, empowered, and focussed.

I had no idea that a woman's birthing body could be so powerful.

After our daughter's birth my whole perspective on birth changed, and I discovered a newfound respect for my body.

"Giving birth can be the most empowering experience of a lifetime - an initiation into a new dimension of mind-body awareness."

Amazing Birth

I knew I wanted to support pregnant women the way I had been supported and so Amazing Birth was born.

“The wisdom and compassion a woman can intuitively experience in childbirth can make her a source of healing and understanding for other women.”

Birth Support Training

I trained as a hypnobirthing practitioner with the Marie Mongan HypnoBirthing Institute in 2012, and now teach The Wise Hippo suite of courses.

I completed the Paramana Doula course with Michelle Odent and Liliana Lammers in the summer of 2012, and am a member of Doula UK.

I also became accredited as Breastfeeding Counsellor with La Leche League in 2012, and continue to volunteer with them.

2012 was a busy year with lots of wonderful learning and growing a baby, our younger daughter, and starting to develop Amazing Birth in Kettering.

I run the Northamptonshire arm of the Positive Birth Movement.

I continue to expand my knowledge and skills by attending workshops and conferences whenever possible so that I can be the best hypnobirthing Doula in Kettering I can be.
